OMG them misidentifying Lancer is triggering me so much.

This line from the Abridged Series is always good on the subject of Lancer due to how accurate it is:
‘He’s pretty much Irish Hercules, Rin!’

What?! They didn’t call lancer the same thing his weapon is longer and he used a different special attack obviously different. Ireland has more then one hero guys come on.
They don’t even look or act similar at all and there’s no recognition by Arthur. All they have in common are being Irish guys with spears.
Gae is the only part of the attack that sounds the same and that literally means spear sooo… all lancers could have that in there attack name.

Be aware that ubw is the second route of the fate stay night original vn out of 3 so you are going to miss a lot of context. Its not this anime that comes first, it is the visual novel specifically. In addition starting from zero kinda gives wrong impressions lol.
In a vacuum if your only watching these two series it can be a decent enough story, but there is far more to the franchise than this

The method Kiri used to save Shirou wasn’t clearly shown in the F/Z anime, no. Even in the F/SN VN, it was revealed further into the story and not in the beginning.
