1. U guys are forgetting David was put on arasakas radar when he installed the sandevistan and showed no adverse side effects. So they were trying to lure him back with promises of money but David decided to become an edge runner instead. Lucy in the last episode saw a file about David in Tanaka’s data and scrambled it. So it’s not like David is specifically what they lost more like David was a good component for whatever project their working on and Lucy seems to be trying to protect him because she knows what it’s like being a tool for arasaka. They don’t care about David just what results David might bring to their project
