Can’t believe we finally made it. Next week begins the true journey for our boy, Naruto.
Pacing is overall better in shippuden. More fillers throughout the show helps the Canon arcs. Only two come to mind as poorly paced. One of those is notorious though. The second arc of shippuden.
Yes, the first, two arcs aren’t paced great, especially that second arc. But they solve the pacing issues by having big filler arcs. I think from then on, the pacing is pretty good, all the way until Studio Perriot starts stalling to deliver the ending of the series, which they never technically do in Shippuden, which always pissed me off.
Weren’t there manga publication issues as the reason why the first two arcs are paced slower?
Not a publication issue simply a source material issue, when they started shippuden the manga was 2 volumes into the 3rd arc, so they would have caught up in no time at all. They also couldn’t have the first or second arc be filler because it’s far too soon, so they’re only option to make money was to stretch the first and second arc to buy time

I think they should watch the other two movies. Taking a small break before jumping straight into Shippuden would be fine. I want them to watch all of the Naruto movies at some point. I believe there are 11 in total. While not all of them are out of this world, they are still worth watching.

I would rather they skip the filler so we can get Shippuden now that’s gonna be so fun to see their reaction haha
The filler is part of it though. It’s included in the episode numbers so it’s clearly part of it and I don’t see any reason to skip whole episodes and leave an obvious gap. I was really looking forward to seeing their reactions to the lightsabers in the Idate arc but they skipped it for some stupid reason
SHIPPUDEN NEXT WEEK?
After last week’s discussion, I’m nervous about them watching Shippudden. I’ve heard mixed opinions about the show. I stopped watching Shippuden after the first arc and switched over to the manga, but plan to watch it along w/Blind Wave. Do you guys think they will like it?
My main issue with Shippuden was the excessive filler episodes, especially towards the end… As long as they skip the filler episodes I think it should be okay.
Why? Filler is clearly part of it. Look at the episode numbers. Without it, there’s an obvious gap and you’re missing stuff. People need to watch filler more
I’m not too worried. The producers do a much better job in Shippuden at handling the issues some of the crew had.
They should the woman representation in shippuden like Sakura is a lot better and the pacing improves significantly with the only truly bad pacing being in the 2nd arc.
I believe they’ll be okay with the first arc, but I feel like Calvin and Aaron will hate the second arc because that has arguably the worst pacing of Shippuden (not including the fillers).
Can we start shippuden with119 and 120 would make the experience smooother and better imo since thats how they did it in the manga And would make their experience less confusing since the show references stuff from those 2 episodes even in the first Arc

I actually wish people would react to the last arc even though its filler. It actually is pretty good and nice little send off for the origional series.

Yeah I watched the Kakashi episodes first and immediately guessed his identity so I typically don’t recommend watching them first, but some people think the opposite makes it more obvious

The beginning of 220 was SO FUNNY lololol i was laughing the whole time!! Also.. the ending for the last episode:'( i had never seen it all so it was cute that they showed a quick flash of who naruto is about to become… super excited! I’m hoping you start shippuden the way it starts in the manga but either way next episode will be fun.

When you guys start shippuden I recommend watching episode 119 and 120 before episode 1. These arc was shown after the naruto and sasuke fight in the manga. Unfortunately this wasn’t adapted until hundreds of episodes into shippuden. It’s an awesome arc that takes place years before the start of naruto. It’s 100 canon and one of the best origin arcs in all of naruto.
Shippuden would have to win a poll, right?
