In the Lucifer universe even people who felt justified and righteous know deep down inside that they are doing evil things and if that guilt is strong enough they spend their time in hell paying it off, usually for eternity. Of course that’s going off the comic which is wildly different from the show which probably doesn’t pay that much attention to the Neil Gaiman comic universe…but it can at least serve as a guide sometimes to understanding the show, maybe hehe
