2. The cataris Lin found inside the box is Gilgamesh’s, which would not work because he has already reincarnated. Tokiomi did not expect this and just wanted the best servant for her daughter. Which is another misfurtune for Lin and Tokiomi.

1. Servants are Spiritual Copies of Heroic Spirits, so you can have more than one instance of the same Hero. If the Catalyst hadn’t been smashed there might have been 2 Gilgamesh’s. Basically, legendary humans get “bubble-boy’d” in a database called the “Throne of Heroes” after they die, acting as protectors of humanity when called upon by the World*. The Holy Grail War is a bastardized method of summoning Heroic Spirits, created by Mages**, by using the Holy Grail to contact the Throne of Heroes & copy the desired Hero’s Spiritual Core (‘Saint Graph’) into a Servant Class container AKA the form of a Contracted Familiar subservient to a Mage.
