Fun fact: Because they were filming on a sound stage, they were actually super hot and sweating during their shoots due to them being dressed in winter clothing indoors. I’d say they sold being cold pretty damn well.
I highly recommend watching the movie the Battle of the Bulge. My dad always had me watch the old war movies with him. I learned a lot watching that one. Old movies are obviously less graphic but being higher level you get a different sense of the battle.
I thought their own planes shot and missed intentionally to get them to run back in the woods where it was safe before the enemy planes came. I could be wrong tho
